Three Taiwanese universities have secured spots among the top 200 in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, published on Thursday.
National Taiwan University (NTU) claimed 63rd place, followed by National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) at 176th, and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) at 199th.
NTU received an overall score of 78.9, up from 68.7 last year, tying with City University of Hong Kong.
NTHU re-entered the top 200 after slipping out the previous year, while NYCU made its debut within the top 200.
Other Taiwanese universities also made it into the top 500, all improving their rankings from the previous year. These include National Cheng Kung University (203rd), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (345th), National Taipei University of Technology (420th), National Taiwan Normal University (435th), and National Sun Yat-sen University (439th).
According to the QS website, the 2025 QS World University Rankings cover over 1,500 institutions from more than 100 countries.
